Review of Olympus Camedia C-50 Zoom

An amazing point and click camera that comes with 5mp so the resolution on your pictures stays great no matter which way you crop it. You can even make posters on this camera. Although the Camedia C-50 doesn't have any sound in movie mode, it's a trade off. The file images are now small enough to send over e-mail to family and friends. If you want a camera that you can just pull out of your pocket turn on, point, and shoot, this camera is definately for you. The 5.0 megapixel sensor creates 2,560 x 1,920 images for prints at 11 x 14 and beyond, and not to mention the perfect picture quality and very VERY nice colors. The Camedia C-50's 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom for 12x total, is PERFECT for a point and shoot camera, and is just enough for any shot.

Although the LCD display could be a bit bigger (it's only 1.5 inches) the accuracy of this little LCD display is quite good, and is very useful. I guess this is a trade off too, because the battery life is SUPERB, this thing could go for weeks on the same pair of batteries! (well not quite.. but just about.)  The Camedia C-50 has very good night exposures with amazing automatic noise reduction. And the remote that the Camedia C-50 comes with is pritty usefull too when displaying pictures on T.V

The durability of this little camera is amazing, when the Camedia C-50 is closed up, I am absolutely sure it can withstand a 4-6 foot drop with mnimal damage. With a free firmware upgrade, this camera can take memory cards of up to 512mb!! That is sure to give you hundreds and hundreds of pictures at the highest resolution settings.
