Lego Star Wars Review Welcome to the Lego Star Wars Review
page. This was another one of those games which I had no interest
in, but downloaded the demo and ended up buying. I thought the demo was pretty
fun, and my son loved it. This game is definitely geared towards kids, so if you're
an adult and you're not a Star Wars fan, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you're
a kid and/or a Star Wars fan, I'd suggest downloading the demo and giving it a
shot.
The game allows you to play several missions based in Episodes I,
II, and III. Most of the missions are ground-based, with a few vehicle-based missions
in the mix. The graphics are surprisingly effective, and the gameplay is simple
-- not always too easy, but easy enough for young children. There's also a "Free
Play" mode in which you can replay any level you've completed, using any of the
characters you've unlocked. And there are a large number of characters available
for you to gain through the collection of Lego "studs" (the little, flat, round
pieces, which act as coins in the game). Each character has a unique ability,
be it use of the Force (which can manipulate Lego pieces to construct objects),
or the ability to travel through air vents or use grapling hooks. Replaying the
levels in Free Play mode allows other secrets to be unlocked, providing a good
amount of replay value.
It's not for everyone, but if you're even mildly
interested, I'd recommend trying the demo -- you just might like it.
