Review of Canon Powershot a95
As expected from the Axx series from Canon, this is the best value out there. The Canon PowerShot A95 (a 5 mb pixel camera) is almost 100$ cheaper than the Canon Powershot A85 (only a 4mb pixel camera!) when it first came out, and 100 times the features! The Canon Powershot A95 features full manual controls over shutter speed and aperture, manual focus, saturation, exposure compensation, custom white balance, ISO, metering, and a histogram in playback mode. Half of the things you may never use, but it’s that one shot, that one perfect shot that makes you wish you had these features.
The camera itself is fairly small (Canon made the size in relation to its price), and has a rotating out LCD display that can be very useful at times. As expected from a Canon camera, the quality is very high, but the picture does have a problem with purple fringing, yet with full control over aperture, it is possible to totally get rid of it, or at least reduce it.
With 3x optical zoom and 5mb pixels and 14 different shooting modes, it’s hard to miss that perfect shot, not to mention the 1.8’’ vari-angle LCD twists in many different directions. But that’s not all, the camera also comes with an auto focuser which when combined with all of its features gives you a shot at the perfect picture. Buy the Canon Powershot A95
